Their second album is coming out in a couple months, watch for it. I got a free track for pre-ordering it and it sounds just as awesome.

I am so shocked no one gives fucks about my fav band NOPE CHUCK TESTA Moving on, heres some groove for your day. Sungrazer. German heavy psychedelic rock, tuned down to C for maximum crunch. Fat and distorted while still keeping a nice bluesy groove, vocalists who can actually sing, and to top it off it is only 3 guys: drums, bass&vocal, guitar&vocal, no extra bullshit and these guys kill it. The actual lyrics are kinda meh, but you can't really complain as they are Germans speaking english as their second language... If you're impatient waiting through the buildup and just want to get to the heavy shit, skip ahead to 2:55

Ok this next band is currently my favorite right now. This Will Destroy You (taken from a song title they thought about using, then realized the name is hilariously cheesy, so they named the band) Epic instrumental post-rock to be the soundtrack for the life of an amazing person. These guys make some really cool music, it generally takes a while to build up from calm and quiet, to HOLY SHIT but man is it good. This track has a lot of their types of sound mashed together to give a good idea of the stuff they do, for A.D.D. people who dont want to wait to get to the epic part, skip to 2:50ish here's a link to the studio version if you want to hear the guitar better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htGmTJNsOr0The reason they are now my top favorite is that they manned up more than any band I've ever seen. Their 2nd album had a string section on the recording, and instead of pussying out like most bands and using keyboard or a backing recording of the strings, they played LIVE WITH A STRING ORCHESTRA. I was at this show having my mind blown, and the guy next to me recorded it thank god here it is: Hard to see much since we were so close to the stage, but theres about 10-12 members of the string orchestra, 1 bass, 2 cello, and violas/violins/whatever Also the second guitarist is lonely over to the right, but he uses an e-bow to sustain his notes and play the guitar like a keyboard almost it is amazing. I'm sure that because I love it, everyone here's gonna think it sucks but man these guys put on a great fucking show!

So I forgot the thread yesterday CAUSE I'M A JERK ok more like it didn't show up in my unread/updated topics lists, but anyway today gets TWO UPDATES to make up for it! Ok so this is WAY more mainstream because it is dubstep, but I really like these guys and they aren't fucking worldwide like Skrillex and shit. Bassnectar. Delicious bass nectar. More musical than some harsher dubstep like Skril, but harsher than the chill stuff. For me its the goldilocks of dubstep, not too ridiculous, not too tame, it is JUST RIGHT.

Yeah I just realized my most-played games of 2012 all came out before 2012. Oh man. Superbrothers:Sword & Sworcery EP came out in 2012. Possibly the most beautiful game ever made with such big freakin pixels. http://store.steampowered.com/app/204060/This game, all the feels. If you give yourself to this game (read: if you actually suspend your disbelief and get into the story) it is emotional as hell, as well as friggin epic. It is somewhat short (I beat it in about 6 hours of gameplay), it is simple (originally developed for touch screen so it is mouse only) but this game had a bigger impact on me than most games I've played. It only costs a few bucks, so if you're someone who actually has an imagination and will let a game take you with it, this game is worth your time and money. It is very hard to describe, and to most it will sound like I'm stroking it like a fanboy, but this game had an impact on my life, and I hope it does for you too. It comes with the soundtrack too, which is really really good, though there are a few tracks that get me all emotional like I'm listening to the song from Aeris dying in FF7. Yeah. That good. So I had a good reason for saying BL2 was not my GOTY! blech...rainbows.

I forgot about Journey, that was amazing. I have a friend who wasted money on a PS3 so I played it at her place, it was absolutely amazing but extremely short so I would not be able to say GOTY, but definitely an incredible game. Not worth buying a PS3 for though.

Hm, I'll have to think about it. Could have been Borderlands 2, but its not. The game is fun, but while they made numerous improvements over the original, the loot drop rates are shit (seriously, I got plenty of orange guns in the first one, but so much harder in this game!) and the raid bosses are such a fucking grind compared to crawmerax. terramorphous is ok but the rest? eff that shit.
Borderlands 2 is still awesome and a lot of fun, but not game of the year since they screwed some stuff up changing from the first game.

Today it is Drone/Doom/Psychedelic/Stoner rock band Earth. Their songs vary from minimalistic drone to grooving psychedelia like this track. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea. Definitely your typical Sub-Pop video, but at least they cared enough to promote the bands back then. Also, this is one of their rare tracks with lyrics, others are more like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apmIX4piRsQ

Listing what mods are enabled in the server title itself may alleviate people's fears.
I know that's what we used to do back in the day at least when it came to server plugins.

I'd prefer if folks don't post their own songs since there are other threads to do that in like the songs you listen to thread, but people can have discussion within this thread

Ok, so this thread I will be updating every day with a new song from a band that is awesome and underrated. I'm no hipster (hence I'm sharing this music not bragging about noone ever hearing of it) but I like lots of stuff that people haven't heard of. Lets see how long I can go before someone actually likes a song that I post! Starting off we have And So I Watch You From Afar (Abbreved to ASIWYFA cause its friggin long) I found out about these guys and their first album here because this someone talking about the album described it like this: "OH MY GOD WE WON THE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP AND THE LOTTERY AND WE’RE SPENDING THE LOTTERY MONEY ON A FUCKING ROCKET SHIP AND WE’RE GONNA GO CARVE A HUGE DICK ON THE MOON WITH A GIANT LASER WE PUT ON THE ROCKET SHIP AND ALL OF OUR PETS HAVE BECOME IMMORTAL AND WE JUST MADE OUT WITH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PERSON WE’VE EVER MET AND IT TURNS OUT THEIR MOM IS REALLY REALLY NICE TOO AND THIS COFFEE WE’RE DRINKING IS FUCKING DELICIOUS I THINK IT’S THAT STUFF THAT CIVET CATS POOP OUT AND IT’S OUR BIRTHDAY PARTY AND EVERYONE IS INVITED AND NOBODY WILL EVER BE MEAN TO ANYBODY ELSE EVER AGAIN is pretty much what this album sounds like" They also get kinda crazy technical metal-ish on some tracks like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgAXpsFyYrM
