There was a streak of queens since 1890, but that streak has ended.

The former queen becomes Princess Beatrix and her son becomes the first Dutch king since Willem III died in 1890.

We're celebrating and partying every year on the birthday of the queen, but this is is even more special because 1. We're getting a new monarch 2. It's a king, while we had a streak of queens since 1890.

Actually I am part Dutch as that's where my last name comes from (my grandfather is only part dutch mostly swedish)
