Validating steam files

Everyday I have to validate files for everygame I play. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know how to fix it?

have the same problem for garrys mod. very annoying as it takes a good 10 minutes to validate for me

Always happens when I try to play TF2 (which is rare enough on its own), but it's real annoying.

Also seems to happen randomly when I load other games, but I can cancel it and it'll work.

Chris has issues with this when he wants to play ZPS yet I've NEVER had an issue with this. Maybe because I rarely uninstall games I play but even when I have this wasn't an issue.

Let it validate, give it like 10 minutes or so. It's not finished when it reaches 100%.

That's odd, for me as long as I manage to validate to 100% on ZPS, I can play it for a couple weeks before it pops up again.  It only pops up every time if I don't let it get to 100% before cancelling.

If you let it actually complete it, it should just screw off for a while.

Right click game>properties>local content>and it's called like debug or something. Should stop it.

I remember I had a problem with this on tf2, I wouldn't even click to play it and it would start validating files but it doesn't anymore since I got my new computer.

I believe this can happen when you force-stop your game.

When I right click the game (gmod) and hit properties, there is no local content tab.

I used to have this problem with some games too.

Go to you're steam folder and find the Clientregistry.blob file, and delete it.
Restart steam and it should be fixed.

The directory of clientregistry.blob for me is: Computer/LocalDisk(C)/ProgramFiles/Steam

Yeah, happens with my Gmod a lot. I hardly play Gmod and it still feels the need to vaidate..
