Restarts like that make me thing the CPU heat sink needs to be re attached with new TIM. or maybe your Board is failing. You would need to troubleshoot the components one at a time or in a different rig.

I have to type fast or might computer might restart in mid post again.

So i put my computer on sleep last night, tried to resume it today and the monitor lost the signal and would not respond, so i forced the computer off.

I came back later today and turned the computer on, i get greeted with the Inspiron logo like usual, then the screen goes to black with the Typing indiactor (blinking underscore). Then my monitor loses its signal and i can't get it back. I force the computer off and when i turn it on again, i see

"System Recovery (i think it was recovery, dont remember, it wasn't restore) has failed" or something along the lines of that, i get the options

1. Resume System Recovery
2. Delete corrupted data and resume boot up (i think it said that)

If i chose the first, it  would do the same thing as before, black screen, typing indicator, monitor loses signal. I chose the second option after and it just went to my desktop and everything was fine.

This mean anything? Also remember i might not have said the exact messages that the computer did, i probably should have written it down.

That just means at least to me it means that the system failed to bootup properly so it wanted to know if you wanted to use the current settings or just use the last known good.

How are we on the hardware troubleshooting side of things?

Have you gotten some temps for the CPU and GPU yet?

Yeah, me thinks your cpu is overheating. 

I also think if it is an Inspiron (Dell, right?) you WILL have to upgrade your power supply to get a better graphics card.

Seems both are within limits (under 80 degrees C) Though a bit hot.

I think this:

Replace the thermal paste on the CPU cooler, properly, with something more heat conductive.  OR possibly upgrade the CPU cooler, as I presume it is stock.  $25, or less, will get you an excellent after market cooler right now.
 

Get rid of the Nvidia card.  Do attempt to reinstall the ATI 5770 - BUT ONLY AFTER CHECKING THE POWER SUPPLY and ensuring it has the wattage necessary to run the card. (IE: 600 watt or more.)  Dell is notorious for skimping on power supplies.

Check the case cooling.  Make sure the fans run in one direction.  (Example: blow in at the front of the case, and blow out the back.)
Make sure you have adequate air flow by having enough fans.
Place the case in an area where there is plenty of space around it. Away from heat creating things.

What is your Anti-Virus?

Unless you mean something else, my anti-virus should be Malwarebytes and Microsoft Security Essentials.

Ok, right there: Microsoft Security Essentials - they are having issues right now.  They are failing the AV Test group's testing of anti-virus.

You may want to seek some other antivirus.

If you go pay, Kasperski, not Norton.

If you go free, Bitdefender (make sure you download the actual free edition, and not a 30 day trial of a pay one.)

I'll check the wattage later, but my father does have some thermal grease since he suspected this might have been the problem. Not sure when i'll be able to get him to apply it though, i don't see him again until next weekend.

Went into BIOS and for some reason found no way to check my PSU...
My BIOS doesn't seem to have "PC Health Status" like i see others have.
