Raiden centered MGS game comes out next month. It was originally Kojima's attempt to connect MGS2 and MGS4 and explain what happened to Raiden but he scrapped the project and let Platnium games complete the game.

It'll take place 4 years after MGS4 and isn't a main entry to the game series, it follows Raiden as he works for a PMC unit raising money for his family when things go wrong; and you'll be using swords and rocket launchers instead of sneaking and using guns.

The next entry in the MGS series is also in development, it takes place after the Peace Walker PSP entry; yet it will be arriving on PS3 and Xbox360.

Perhaps ground zeroes is a reference to colonel zero, and.. well I don't know what else to speculate. I need to play PeaceWalker and portable ops because they cover what happened between Snake Eater and MGS1.

Yeah; I was disappointed it was a scrapped attempt to explain Raidens history between MGS2 and 4 but this will be cool too as it'll carry on the plot of Raiden of whom a lot of people have become attached to since MGS2 and 4. It will still be interesting I'm sure but the real wait is for Ground Zeroes which won't be out for a while. Rising comes out next month though so might as well get it, I need something new to play on my PS3 that isn't Netflix and Guitar hero.

Personally I miss how stealth dependent the older games were (Metal Gear Solid, MGS2 and MGS3) MGS4 could be played so easily by just running and gunning. Stealth felt sooooo optional.

Anyways I'm so excited for both of these games. I know the Raiden one isn't the same genre but MGS as a series has excellent story telling and some action.

I only tried to play MGS4 using stealth, but in MGS3 you can run and gun too. You just eventually get outnumbered and die if you don't hide, but in MGS4 it's even worse. IMO there wasn't enough gameplay in general for MGS4, it was all cutscenes. The last cutscene of the game is LONGER THAN A MOVIE. It was literally two and a half hours long I believe.

seeing as I actually enjoy the new genre, and we probably aren't going to get anything decent out of that genre outside of Bayonetta 2, so yeah it looks cool to me.

I should make a thread about how much I hate the new DmC, I really don't want to double-post on the 'worst games ever made" thread
