Quote from: Christovski on January 12, 2013, 03:41:36 AMIts more a case of more people have gaming consoles, than gaming PCs. I have an xbox so I can play with my friends on xbox live who dont have steam. Plus there are some rather good console exclusive games. I love PC gaming and have always been primarily a PC gamer, but consoles have their place, they are much more accessible for non-techie people and more of my friends have consoles than gaming PCs (everyone has a PC but not good enough to play new games well)i like the idea of Piston cause that way i can choose whether I want to play steam games at my desk on my PC with my 32" HD monitor, or on the couch on the steam console with my 32" HDTV That's misleading, since all consoles are by definition "Gaming Consoles" who has any "non gaming consoles"So I'm not so sure that's true.

This whole thing is a travesty. For starters, Pillz is obviously the sexiest.
^This. The word "console" means many things. The phrase "gaming console" refers to specifically what we are talking about.
We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.

Yes, but there are not more GAMING pc's than gaming consoles =P In general more people game on consoles than they do on PC's these days. Maybe its different in Canada? There are actually more Xbox 360's out there than there are users on Steam.I mean there are no concrete numbers to back up this sorta thing so not exactly fact, but you gotta ask yourself out of all the people you know IRL, how many play on console vs. PC?
I bet 50$ they'll put a MH game on this thing. From what I gather of "why?" is that Gabe thinks that Windows 8 and something else about pentium's new series will be GG for pc gaming (the latter being GG for PCs themselves). I don't remember exactly what those articles said.
Rated R for Retarded
I'm the devil.
I don't think Gabe would assume windows 8 and an upgrade in processing would kill PC gaming. This isn't even a console it's a mini-PC for morons who can't just assemble a PC for themselves, and it'll probably be a cheaper, faster easier solution to getting something they can play PC games on. Even I might sacrifice some money to check one of these things out if their cheap enough and have more HDD space than my current computer.. lolIt's brilliant and it's going to be a success, and people are going to compare it to Xbox360 and PS3 like twats I'm sure. I was hoping Steam and Sony would just partner up and make the PS4 a Steam platform but that'd be too weird for the two businesses I suppose.

I can't blaim him.

They could DOMINATE the PC gaming market as dictators at that point.

If they wont to make an OS they need to make their shit stable first.Exactly; you design a computer for your software and you can 100% control the stability. Not 100% but you get what I mean, if they're pumping out their own computer lines with their own OS, I'd assume they'd be more on top of the stability and glitcyness. Maybe not though, but if anyone could make that their goal in the future it's Valve.
