Dead Space

I loved the first and Second Dead Space (Though they are no where near as "Terrifying" as many people claim them to be.) However, I've just recently looked at the stuff for number three.

Am I the only one who's worried it's taking a very dangerous road to becoming another one of those yearly released games?

I'm really hoping that this is the last one.

I can't say for certain as Dead Space 3 hasn't been released. However, from the videos I've seen and the interviews it looks like it's becoming another generic shooter. (3rd person sure, but they seem to be killing off many of the things that made the game terrifying.)

Anyone else got an opinion on Dead Space 3?

DS1 & DS2 are great games but they weren't 'terrifying', DS3 will probably just bland it out unfortunately.

I SOMEWHAT disagree. DS1 was more jump-scare tactic and it worked well with the settings. Quite honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

DS2 however, I was more into the story than the scare tactics.... I somewhat knew where they were placed, but it was quite disturbing to say the least.

DS2 however, I was more into the story than the scare tactics.... I somewhat knew where they were placed, but it was quite disturbing to say the least.

I also somewhat agree with you, DS2's story was great (and DS1's), but it wasn't as scary as I expected, except from that part in DS2 where the fire-extinguishers went off, but that was because of an extremely loud sound that took me by surprise (a cheap shot xP)

DS1 on the other hand brought more... unease, the dark could be a little eerie but that's all.

I enjoyed the first game, second one seemed to take a safer approach not taking any real risks.

However, I will not be buying DS3, it looks very average and the series really isn't giving us anything new or ground breaking anymore.
