But there are far more than "a few shootings" happening in the states.

And I'm not just talking School Shootings.

Saw on PhillyD Israel ceased the public from owning guns and only provided them to security, police officers & Military and civilian gun crimes practically disappeared. While their Israeli gov't spokesperson blames video games and movies for gun violence they seem to be doing pretty good at handling gun problems.

America would be very different, and would have many more guns but it is somewhat possible if we try.

Israel had a completely different environment when they made and put into effect this plan while in america their is about 89 guns to every 100 person (taken from wiki) so yeah I do not trying to make a plan like this would work especially since some people already hate the government and others would say taking guns is against our rights because an outdated document says we have the right to bear arms.

1. I very clearly stated that I don't obviously think we should do this.
2. It was a joke and not an actual solution and should be treated as such.
3. If bullets were $5000 dollars they wouldn't just go missing. And they wouldn't pay for it? What are they going to do then? Make it magically appear? Just cause their a criminal doesn't mean they get everything for free. Even illegal guns cost money, and in fact usually cost more. They would be a lot less bullets around if it was $5000 dollars and it would be pretty difficult for someone to have many of them.

So no SC0TT you don't think. Perhaps some day when you pass the age of 5 you will be able to view the world correctly and understand logs and common logic. But for now you keep on thinking about magic and little fairys.

Back on Topic.

While Comedians tend to be hilarious, they often make A LOT of sense; and many of them have similar ideas on gun control that I wish would really happen. They should remove bullets from public purchase completely, but let everyone keep their guns for a decade and THEN outlaw guns. Bullets will be scarce by then and if we keep guns in the hands of security and officers/military, things should start working out by then. Once you outlaw guns, you increase armed security measures and order no one to be shot unless they have a gun themselves.

No shit crime will still exist and people will still kill with knives and everything else; but that's not the point. What I want gone is the power guns give to normal people. The option to end someone's life with the pull of a trigger. The option to walk into fucking Walmart and buy a gun. You don't ever have to even shoot your gun, you can go buy one and start robbing people at random; go jack a car, rob a bank. Fuck that shit.

As long as there is whole communities of people who have their core purpose based around guns, I doubt this will work (NRA for example). It would surely cause great outrage among many people. And like Scott said, our culture is very different and very diverse.

Now this is a typical American assumption since I know very little about Israel but if I'm not mistaken many Israelis are quite religious which could play into some part of the acceptance of a gun ban. Also the United States is waaaay larger than Israel.
