Komen rejects donation money from Pronhub

Thoughts on Komen more or less taking up their personal morality over accepting a donation that could possibly save someone's life? Debate why they were wrong/right in this situation.


This post has nothing to do with the site itself or pornography, simply the discussion of the donations they've raised THUS FAR in which Komen has ALREADY rejected before they even finished raising money.

True I suppose, but it's the fact that they had the nerve to fucking reject donations exceeding $6,000 (and will PROBABLY increase to $15,000 by the end of it) simply because it's from a porn site. It's pathetic.

The difference between selling your body for the actual performance of sex is that most people either don't care or they are in a position that they are unable to afford something. BUT the difference between prostitution and porn is that porn is LEGITIMATE acting, no matter HOW bad the acting REALLY is.

Also, not only women do porn. You have to realize that MEN also do this business and get paid. There are MANY gay/transvestite porn videos (I can't even believe you're making me say this) so it isn't just specifically women. That's a very ignorant and narrow-minded statement to believe men are pigs and that women sell their bodies to the porn industry. They have every choice in the matter of the scenes, everyone. If they feel uncomfortable, they don't have to do it.

AGAIN, not only women do it, and homosexual women also look into the posing, fornication, and sexual affairs/dressing. Women are our equals in every aspect of life. Without women, we would not exist.

Also, please note that men AND women do Porn not because they don't have an option to do it, but because they want to do it. There are dominance roles as well for women, so frankly, I don't see where anyone can go off and say that it's just disrespectful for women. I agree with what Wooley said in the start of his comment that they are a company and they can accept or decline whatever donations they want, it is their choice and they can do it for any reason they want even if it is to help others. I also left in what you said since it seems some are talking about why they are not excepting it for the entire porn reason but I would just open another thread if you want to discuss if porn is moral or ethical or whatever just have that conversation else where.

KOMEN IS NOT IN THE BUSINESS TO HELP BREAST CANCER VICTIMS.  THEY ARE IN THE BUSINESS TO TAKE A % OFF THE TOP OF CANCER DONATIONS FOR THEMSELVES.

If the pron group wanted to donate to save women from breast cancer, instead of making noise, and publicity for themselves, they would donate to a LEGITIMATE charity.

The NFL is worse.  That $129.99 Pink NFL football?  Less than 5% of the $129.99 goes to charity. And that goes thru a parent organization charity, that takes a percentage off the top (typically 30%) then sends to the specific charity work making boobies safe.
