Not really. Being good is a result of playing the game the way it was intended. Bhop is something extra you can learn to have an edge over others. Sure it's similar, but it's not a part of the game. Maybe in CSS, and I'm sure in ZM it "helps" get around traps, and if Arby's and gang wants that, that's totally fine, I wouldn't mind unless it was affecting mine or others gameplay. In ZM it really only affects yours, and the ZM's I suppose.. but I hear they don't want it, idk why inject keeps saying otherwise.

Also the counter measures in ZPS only prevent extended bhop, but people still use it in bursts to get away unfairly. Using attacks from zombies or humans to propell themselves into a bhop, sometimes using explosions to practically fly across the map. Understand this is my only real experience with it, and it only causes distress to every other player. Therefore it is not allowed.

This basically. As long as it wont affect other players, its fine.

I think we are missing the point.

CG is to make people happy and having fun, if the majority of the community does not like Bhopping, then why should we allow it? Now we are just angering who like to play the server, and if it happens to much, they find a new server, and CG has one less customer.

no. The majority of the ZPS CG community may not like it. But for ZM it's more common and accepted.
And also CG is an open community were suspose to do what most like to increase member count. Most people honestly are fine with bhoping.

I cannot see b-hopping working well for ZPS, but i can see it work well for other games. It is considered a skill for some but an exploit for others. But what i really hate most is when people would go to the extent of looking up scripts to perform it.

Admittedly i do it all the time in TF2, so it is a skill. But also an exploit unintended by many developers. Depending on how you view, you can say (perspective of a server owner) i want this in regardless of people's skill  or no, i'm going to stay true to the devs. and make it the way it's intended to play.

If devs don't intend for it to be in their games they should learn to dev and remove it.  It's built in to the source engine but that doesn't necessarily mean it needs to be in source mods.

To whoever mentioned quake, Strafe jumping =/= b-hopping.
B-hopping only applies to certain Source games, ie CS:s.

I ask myself that question too Blackllama, but then if you see it in one source game like CS:s then why would you see in another like ZPS?

But anyways I think that devs did implement a command to allow
or disallow b-hopping, inject did something to the ZM server to allow b-hopping
in that one previous thread...?

Why would you think that it is 'more common and accepted' I don't accept bunnyhopping AT ALL.
But apperantly Arbys accepts it, I cannot go in against that ofcourse so fuck it. I'm off this whole BHOP shit and let people make it unfair for others, no problem with me.

Because it's part of the source engine. By default bhoping is very easy unless settings are changed to make bhoping better. I remember Value talking about it once saying it's not a exploit. So ther...
