Allow me to quote my post on the other thread.  You seem to have missed it.

Pillz if what you're implying is a whitelist then I think no.

Whitelists are a general pain in the ass for both the people approving them and the people applying.  They also pretty much stop any chances of CG bringing in players with the server.  Besides if we have admins why do we need a whitelist?

Pills does have a point. CG is open to anybody willing to join but with the way people grief in minecraft maybe a safe bet would be to keep it small and mostly CG people and if its popular expand and if it gets more popular then expand to include it for anybody. Just a thought.

Whitelists only stop CG from expanding and remove possible revenue.  The only way we could get strangers to actually come and apply for a whitelist is if we run around advertising it's fantasticness.

Minecraft isn't the place for finding new players. The last server had quite a handful of random people playing, and they took the liberty of removing all the blocks around my house area. Never found out who did it but having cunts like that around completely deters me from playing. If it isn't all CG people I love and trust (lol) you won't see me playing anything but singleplayer. Plus Sly's server was laggy and would randomly fuck my shit up, so I didn't like that either.
