What to get for laptop to make run faster?

8 gb RAM in the laptop. Unnecessary, can your processor even handle that.

I mean, the processor isn't that good.
Also, 4gb RAM is standard on laptops. And it is certainly not the cause.

Reducing heat using a cooling pad and adding a Internal SSD as your pirmary storage would be the only things I could recommend. 8 gb or ramm is not going to help at all, and unless your motherboard supports a processor swap that wont be much of use either. So cooling and Storage type is what you should shoot for

Guys, he wants to run Minecraft better, and Minecraft is a RAM heavy game, so even though his overall preformance wouldn't benefit that much from 8g of RAM, Minecraft would run smoother.

As far as your processer and because it's an HP, you're screwed, they don't let you change that stuff, they make it cheap, and they make it cheap good... Lol

Anyways, if you REALLY want to stick to a laptop, I just bought a new TOSHIBA Satellite A665-3DV12, and boy, let me tell you, this thing is a beast.

Oh, Cadaver, I know you have beef with nVidia, but they still do lead the Graphics industry, and just because they mess up here and there, don't lead him away, they do sell nice cards (and their on-board is awesome) for not a lot of money.

I think your best bet is a new laptop, you will end up spending less money in the long run. OR if you're not looking for mobility, go build a desktop, if you do your research, you can build a decent PC for under $400.

... There are two companies... ATI and Nvidia, so yeah.. I guess Nvidia is a top graphics creator...

For the record, nVidia is identical to ATI other than their physx engine, which is amazing... Otherwise, they're more costly and not worth it. He's looking at a laptop, so it'd be kind of useless to suggest anything as he's probably going to be stuck with a bad onboard anyway.. It's the fact that he's using a laptop for gaming, no matter if it's for Batman Arkham Asylum or Minecraft.

I'm just going to suggest you build a PC, but it's not going to run very well for $400? You can only really make barebones computers for $400, and you'll need a new processor by the end of the year if you're going with barebones.

You'd need $500 lowest to build one, even then you'll be shooting without an operating system unless you have one, they tend to be costly. Better just to have a disc lying around.

I have an HP Desktop and it runs okay as far as gaming goes. It can just barely make it by the newest Call of Duty but it does every other game I play perfectly. Minecraft, Left 4 Dead, TF2. Computer wasn't that costly either, one of their casual type ones I think.

You could build a decent PC for $400, you just need to know where and what to buy. It really isn't that difficult. Regardless, he doesn't want a new one, but upgrading an HP doesn't really get you very far, there isn't much to upgrade. May I suggest the next time you buy a computer, don't buy a pre-build one, build your own, you pay less for the performance.

Low-end (being between $200-500) HP's, suck.. A lot, TF2 and L4D2, aren't hard games to play...

I can't get a job, as I am 13. You need to be 14 to work in an actual store in Kentucky. I can't do oddjobs because everyone around where I live has kids that do it for them.
