Due to the complete negligence from leadership and near non existent admin staff and a faulty server

ZPS is now up for debate for a shut down

debate whether we should shut it down or keep it and attempt an overhaul

personally what i would like to see is it converted into cinema harvest biotec armory type church siege type rotation at least that will get some people or a 24/7 harvest something that self maintains

Actually if you want a maintained zps server now it is basicaly, just fun maps =/

Hmm. I hate to see it go, but cannot play. I think a 24/7 fun map would work for a short while, as there are a few of those out there being successful.
So add a few fun maps to that rotation...
I believe this is the end...
I miss the old CTC days were we could populate in a second. But, the game designers have abandoned it, and most know this...
Not to mention their messing with success...

Perhaps a fun night every now and then - put up a ZPS and have the oldies come and play for old time sakes...

Sigh.

that wont get players at all

in fact that is generally what kills the server

that is what people in the community like

problem is nobody in the community plays on the zps server because 1. it is dead (main reason) 2. its a bad game
so it perpetuates downward so that won't work

we have enough trouble just trying to start up the tf2 so i know for a fact nobody will actually take time out of their day to populate the zps

What if we made a gungame server? I mostly play TTT, but when I play CS:S it's usually gungame. GG is fun because anyone can join up and play a quick deathmatch game. GG with fy maps would be even better.

Keep it up for 2-4 weeks at least that long and i can honestly tell you, that with a little effort, the server will get people back on again. just 2-4 weeks is all the time it takes

Same with me TK, but I ditched zps cause it died for me when kat died.
I believe the server should immediately be shut down, you can hate me for saying that, but there is no point in keeping it any longer.

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree with dino on this one.

I can't even force myself to play it anymore, there's no dev. support

(but last time we said that at SKG they came and bitched on our forums, released one update then stopped again...)

I think we should leave up a slightly smaller server though, kinda like what the Shack used to be. we could have it passworded for ppl just on the forums, and we could have it set so everyone could screw around with fun commands and stuff and change maps when it gets boring. I think ppl we have would like that.

its essentially impossible to restart a ZPS server nowadays....

oh how I miss the good old days of ZPS.... ahhh....

And I quite understand ^1?? ^1 kAMikAzE's stance. But, if it just sits empty and wastes bandwidth, and its place can be used for another server which populates, I understand the need for CG to grow...

Sigh. It was a good long run. It got a ton of us involved with CTC, then CG... And its dead, Jim... Pass the ketchup.

ZPS as a game got ruined for me when they add HARDCORE MODE OGM and ZPA RESPAWNING HUMANS TF2
Replace the server with a server on a good game, say, CSS?
