This is how to make our TF2 server good, and why.

People come into TF2 servers to play TF2. They don't immediately check for Alltalk, but will eventually realize it is on. They will either proceed to complain about the alltalk, or just not say anything on the mic, and say it in team chat instead. The problem with team chat, is it's text, and some people neglect the chatbox while being shot at or etc.

There's no real need to socialize on the server, you can socialize amongst your team-mates, but IMO if you want to talk to everyone in CG on the server, get them all in vent.

The decision to choose whether or not you want alltalk on or off, when you join the server would be nice, if possible. That way every person who connects is aware of the situation/plugin, and can then choose how they'd like to play, so they can't complain. Sure that's practically how it is now, but then there'd be a surefire chance everyone knows about it. Not everyone cares enough to do anything about it, or to at least read the chatbox..

How do I know that? ZPS. ._.

Idk. I never really liked having alltalk on, I like the way it use to be, where once it was like 4v4, alltalk would turn off. That way when the servers small everyone can talk, but once more players come, it turns off.

It really doesn't matter when it comes down to it, and it's only a big deal because WE CARE ABOUT THE SERVER. While in reality, I mean, TF2 people probably could care less.

Can't we make the team chat key the usual chat key and have maybe another button to turn on All talk chat.

But yeah dead people should only be able to talk to the dead 

( And the thing about socializing, its a pub server. How many times do you get a team of smart people who work in a team? May get boring not talking to all your friends on the other team? )

I think the idea for having a seperate button for alltalk would be great, and the default is for team only. 

I also think that turning down the respawn time would be fantastic.  I was playing on frontier the other day, we had 9 minutes to push the cart literally 5 yards and we couldn't do it becuase quick-respawn was on.

Do these things and ppl who actually play to play will be happy and ppl who want to socialize will have their all-talk.  I don't see why this isn't realistic

The alltalk issue is pretty indifferent to me, because I'm not very competitive when I play. I can see how it can be annoying to some people though.

I think the respawn times are the biggest issue here. What Wholegrain says about the ratios being the same doesn't matter in situations where a Spy is sapping buildings in an enemy base, and the engineer's spawn time is so low that he can spawn and immediately and fuck everything up.

Like Slyder said, Valve did these things for a reason. Changing them just makes gameplay unbalanced.

Also, I agree with the respawn times, ESPECIALLY on Payload.

Another thing occurred to me as I was just playing. As a Scout, I can keep the cart from going backwards for the entire game, on most maps. If I'm playing as a Scout with fast respawn on, I can win the game by myself by just rushing onto the cart over and over again.
