It's very demanding in RAM. So unless you have 2 GB or more, don't play it. I have 1 GB, and the world generating (which is a very important part of the game) makes the game lag as shit. It's still very popular, though.

Minecraft is a sandbox game, and sandbox games are very hard to describe, so I suggest looking around Youtube to learn more about it.
Also, the game isn't free. You have to pay for it.

A sandbox game with a generating landscape can be 7 or 8x the size of the real world with different biomes and stuff.

You collect materials by day and defend your home by night.

Check the wiki to see all the crafting material and mobs  :)

I watched about... 20 videos on youtube out of the like... BILLIONS of them... It looks pretty awesome :D Maybe I will get it..
