Scammed on TF2 and need help on how to get the Unusual back.

Hello, as you may know TF2 has Unusuals and they're worth a lot of money.

Mine was worth 140 dollars and I just got scammed out of it

The guys profile is private but I still have it up. :C Does anyone know any solutions on how to get it back

If I got Scammed outta a unusual, I would just Report them on Steam rep.


If you have his Steam ID and he profile and Other things, do follow hit tutorial on how to report.

He gave me a fake rep thread who had 16 pages of reputation. Im guessing he just changed his name to that.

I contacted steam but I doubt they'll help

I trusted him since 16 pages is a lot, but he just ended up scamming me.

He said he would pay after I trade him since he doesn't trust Middlemen. I gave him the Unusual and he just stopped responding. He didn't even remove me, he just didn't respond.

Sorry, I'm just... I don't know what to say, I won't say anything, but my advice is to send a ticket to steam support and like Old said, Cadaver may be able to help.

Leet I looked at his history. This guy is a pro scammer, he didn't create a fake rep - He spent around 200 paying people items to +rep him on that website. After he got 16 pages he started scamming. It was the best offer I got, and it wasn't obvious that he was planning to scam. He offered 140, which drawed my attention. I've dealt with people who had 10 pages of rep and went through with it. So I figured no big deal. Trust me it was very believable.

People make mistakes, as they say, hindsight is 20/20.


Lesson learned: Middle men are always necessary when trading over paypal. There is always a risk in being scammed, especially when you agree to take the money second while trading without a middleman.

To be honest, I doubt you'll get anything back, you might at least be able to get them listed on steamrep though. That's life I guess.

I thought you were not allowed to sell items for cash in TF2? Unless that's changed I doubt steam will be any help.

You dun goofed boy, this is why I stick to the steam trading for trading TF2 stuff. Once you add in paypal you have to trust the person your trading with. Unless you make them go first, which is what I would do. But still it gets all complicated once you step outside the steam trading thing.
