They can drum beat all they want but fact of the matter is if they start a war they will certainly lose and the leaders will all lose this 'power' that they have.

Skies, I know we can't be too arrogant but all of their equipment is outdated, their training is minimal. The only threat they have is an nuclear option which is most definitely a threat to not take lightly. I just don't know if they would be crazy enough to use it to start a war, but I could see them using it as a last resort or to strike Seoul, which would be horrific. This is compounded by the fact that their leaders couldn't care less about their people, so in the very unlikely event that we would nuke them back hitting a city center would not be a threat at all (And yes, talking about nuking cities is pretty bad, but it has happened before).

What they would be scared of is losing their power grip over people, because once the war starts they will basically have lost. This isn't the Middle East where there are people willing to blow themselves up for a cause, albeit misguided, this is a country that has suffered for nearly 100 years under a ruling family. Now that shouldn't discount the fact that it is possible enough people have been indoctrinated to give their lives for their leader to cause some damage to our forces and South Korea's and it could turn into another Iraq but considering its an nation on its own (while in Iraq, terrorist groups were bolstered by surrounding countries) and is a communist government, it is possible that once you topple the government it will be simple enough to end the war.
