I always thought it wasn't so much HL3 we were waiting for, but Episode 3.

Technically, (and GN HAS said this in an interview) Half Life 2: Episodes 1 and 2 ARE part of Half Life 3.
He said he hated how it wasn't just called HL3 E1 and E2. E1 and E2 are supposed to be the parts of a larger game, HL3.

Soooo, Half Life 3's been around. We're just waiting for the Third Act to start

I have had about four Half life 3s up to this point doing this. Pretty entertaining to get messages about it.
