Computer randomly shutting off. [SOLVED]

For some reason, when my computer has been shut off for long periods of time, about a day, when i turn it on it turns off after about 1-5 minutes. It will do this perhaps 3-5 times before it seems perfectly fine for the rest of the day. It isn't overheating, and my guess is that i might just have too much in my computer, as this has only started a month or three after i got 6 MB of RAM.

Do any errors pop up?
Did you check the connections from the PSU?
Specs of your computer? (including psu specs could be overloaded)
Possibly even the outlet you are using is overloaded with too many cords? (happened to me once but doubt it is it but worth a try)

It could be a power supply problem with your power supply. Does it not turn on at all or just take a long time to load?

Check all cables

remove one stick of ram - restart and see if the issue repeats.  remove until one stick is left.

put the ram back in - did the error happen again?

lower the ram clock speed

memtest for 24 hours to see if the ram is bad

What is the computer plugged into? size of the power supply? (IF it is plugged in to the typical battery backup ups, it is getting the wrong type of sine wave for stable power.  Do not plug 500+ watt power supplies into standard ups.)

Turns out it was that my pair of 1GB sticks of RAM wasn't agreeing with my pair of 2GB, removed the 1GB pair and it hasnt shut itself off since. Didn't know that you shouldnt mix RAM like that.
