Cannot see flames in TTT

Hello everyone, for some times now i've been asking around in ventrilo and on steam forums and yet no help. I thought i'd take it to the help section of the forums to see if anyone has had this problem and has found out how to fix it.

I reinstalled my GMOD and HL2. I installed ep1, ep2 and lost coast.

Important specs:
Quad-core 2.2GHZ
5770 HD Radeon 1GB.

I've restarted my computer many times, i have the latest drivers for my card and still nothing.

I've verified my steam cache for GMOD and defragged it.

I cannot think of any other fixes or problems wrong here. I never had this problem until 2 weeks ago.

Any help?

Edit: I cannot see the fire after the incent grenade is thrown, i can see props catch on fire though. Also the TTT_Losttemple map i cannot see the fire where the torches are on the sides (The things that light up the hallway)

Solved.

I am so happy to post the fix to this. Took me two weeks to fix this and i finally got it.

Directx 8 does NOT support some water particles and flame particles in some games (Gmod) . To fix this problem you need to download the latest directX from the website. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/resultsForProduct.aspx?displaylang=en&productID=9C954C37-1ED1-4846-8A7D-85FC422D1388

Go to your steam.
Go to your game list.
Find Garrysmod.
Rightclick > Properties > General Tab > Set launch options > Insert the text (-dxlevel 90)
Start your game and your good (:

A few of your video settings will change, nothing serious though.
