A friend of mines who played zps, decided get off/disconnect/quit. but when i talked to her through steam chat it said that she was still in-game, when she tried exiting steam it said that steam was still running an application/program, The simplest way to solve this is to ctr-alt-del and End task zps/End process hl2.exe but for her its been happening for all steam games when she tries to exit them.

So is there a solution to this instead of having to manually end task?

Used to happen to me and currently does that for L4D1. I have no solution.

u could let her try reinstall steam

try disconnecting from server and then exit game.
It is bug with the source engine, used to happen to me.

when i see it its a problem with gameoverlayui.exe (or somethng very close to that) its a bug with the way steam runs the programs, and is why when a steam game freezes you cant alt-tab and see the desktop to end the process. Its a poorly engineered part of steam and it drives me NUTS.
