From the time I've had on the server, and experienced people using the Melon Launcher (pretty much only Nexus and Cortez), it's caused nothing but laughs for the whole server. No one's complaining that it's OP, or is a "Pay to Win" weapon - it's a silly weapon that's fun to use, and fun to watch people use. Pretty much the same thing for the Zombie Infector. If the majority of TTT players start complaining, and want it nerfed, Cortez will deal with it. But come on, it's a zombie gun. The only reason it's there is to give a twist to the server, and make people laugh, and it's doing a fine job with that. Besides, I'm almost certain that donators will buy it once or twice, just to check it out, and then never use it again.

Or we could simplifly the rules.
So on one of the best TTT servers, the rules bascially boil down to about ten lines of text. KISS (Keep it simple stupid)
That, combined with giving admins more leeaway with how they interpet the rules, or how they inforce them, would be better.
I don't really get the idea of how dumbing down the rules will make gameplay more enjoyable. Like others have already said, it just promotes RDM and trolling. Plus, all of those detailed rules were put there for a reason, many of them coming from players complaining that they should be there... why get rid of them if they were there to fix problems?

A lot of the regulars stopped playing TTT. I don't have an exact reason why, but it's a fact. That's why I stopped playing - when most of my friends are gone, I have no incentive to play anymore. This is probably true for a bunch of others who used to play TTT. Now, pretty much the only times I see the server semi-populated is when a couple of CG members (2 or 3) get on just to mess around, along with a few randoms. It's not really fun anymore. We need new regulars, who will actually be loyal to the server, and join the community; maybe invite some of their friends to hop on as well. It should be more like Hidden, which is welcoming new forum members almost every week. I think adding some kind of donating perk system would help attract more players to make this happen. So yeh, that's my rant for the day.

You should certainly not be taking all the blame here, Crow. Best of luck to you, mate.

I have to admit, I try to make my best effort to stay involved with CG and play games with everyone but I can't say it really feels like home to me either.
I can't really say "everyone" is acting "cancerous" but there will always be a few people in communities like these that won't/can't get along with certain other people. We have a lot of that it seems and in the freedom of expression we covet we like to spew our opinions with an arrogance that makes us feel good about our selves often at the cost of others.
On the note of seriousness, it shouldn't exist in a gaming community. Everything's been a little TOO serious lately and maybe that's why I feel repelled in a sense from wanting to be more active in the community. I try my best because it's all I've known the past five or six years and I don't want to give up on CG and I'll always be around to help as much as I can but I do not like how things have been going and unless things really turn around I don't see us lasting much longer.
In my perfect world, people wouldn't be allowed to say half the shit they do on here but with nobody really in charge dealing out punishments for unruly and disrespectful behavior until it reaches the EXTREME obnoxiousness there's nothing that can be done. It's gone on for to long for anyone to feel it's needed, but this kind of shit that's happening today is ridiculous. I can't believe it's all public for everyone on the internet to read too, like geez we look like the biggest group of fools on the planet. Imo.
Words from a wise man.

I was really skeptical when this was first announced, but it looks like they did a really good job with it.

It was a mandatory assignment for me last year. "Write 2-3,000 words a day" was the constant homework for English class. I hated every bit of it....
