My first Mun landing (with a probe, testing another probe that should become the manned landing vehicle if it works)
Opps didn't want to land upright. Some working of the landing gear and thrust equals the probe standing up. 663
In The News / Baseball player suspensions« on: July 31, 2013, 11:13:44 PM »

So what does everybody think about them? Its good that the MLB is finally cracking down on these guys, but the NFL needs to follow suit as well, since its pretty obvious people use PED's in that sport. Its going to be crazy too if A-Rod gets banned. I'm sure most of you hate him like I do but man, still nuts. 664

I'm not talking about Youtube, or Twitter, or Facebook comments, I'm talking about garnering enough complaints that cause people to actually change their product.

Oh yeah, I read up on the guy and he is by no means a saint. That being said, the Industry is known for its horror stories of overworking, underpaying and well who flames the most at the end of the day? Moviegoers, people that listen to music, or video gamers? 666

I am seeing this become a problem overall in the gaming industry. Look at the policy change of Xbox One, look at the rage over the Kerbal Space Program comments made by the developer that they will have to come out with additional paid content to add a multiplayer because the current game can't support it. Yes sometimes the bitching is reverent, but when you are forcing people out of the industry, or forcing a company to drop policies that would push the industry forward, it makes gamers look very immature and basically puts all of us in a bad light. On top of that, the industry already has a somewhat low price margin, so when your forcing developers out of business that try to bring new, different ideas to the industry, you are part of the problem.
You are part of the reason why games like CoD and Madden get churned out year after year, making millions for the company while sitting firmly in the past. Hell Black Ops II just had a patch that fixed multiplayer imbalances and you know what the developers got told to do? They were told to kill themselves, because some 11 year olds favorite gun exploit is now fixed or balanced http://www.polygon.com/2013/7/24/4552332/black-ops-2-developer-threatened-over-weapon-changes 667

Cortez is on vacation.
This ban request does not have enough evidence. I'll give you a day or two to post some proper pictures, otherwise this will be ignored and locked. 668

Just remember that admining is sort of a second job, and its something you volunteer for. You can certainly be a part of CG without being an admin

Admin Resignation / Re: UnknownError's Resignation« on: July 19, 2013, 02:59:09 PM »
I wanted to wait until everybody had posted before I said something.
Admin is tough. There are already a ton of things to do before you start admining on a server. Life has a way of creeping up on you and in all honesty, Friends, Family, School, Career are all the more important then playing video games. Video games however are a great way to blow off some steam, to release some stress and to just get away from the all too busy world that we live in today. I would say don't consider completely dropping video games from your life, unless its really putting a drag on it (you know, those guys that spend 14 hours a day playing games......yeah they have no life). Take some time to think about what you want in life, and come back when you think you can. You're a good person Unknown, so it would be sad to see you go completely away from us. Plus you like Anime ![]() If you ever need any help everybody here on the forums are here for you, and my door is always open. 675
Debate Forum / Re: George Zimmerman« on: July 15, 2013, 11:46:49 AM »
What really pisses me off is the comparison to the Emmit Till trial. Emmit Till was a completely defenseless 14 year old boy that got basically mobbed, murdered and his killers were acquitted because of the racism in the deep south. For this case it was clear that both parties were equally at fault for starting the engagement (Zimmerman) and continuing the engagement (Martin) to the point that somebody was killed. There wasn't any per-meditation for the killing, yet here we are comparing it to one of the more horrific, true race crimes.
I'll bring up Detroit again because I live near it. I don't see anybody protest when kids get shot. I don't see anybody protest when people get killed over petty things. I don't see anybody protest when a 70 year old Tuskegee Airman gets both his legs broken by a car thief, and he crawls to get help while people walk past him, and ignore him. I don't see any protests when people get murdered and the police can't solve the crime because people won't 'snitch'. Only when different races are involved is it worthy of a protest. |
