Yes Yes back on topic. The CSS server gets horrible lag when too many people are on. It needs to be fixed or we must use a differant server from now on to practice.

more houses + more rooms = more lag also.

Every darkrp server I have been on never has the whole server rping, which is why I suggested the simple and less laggy version of downtown which is used on most servers. You also have to think of it this way. Everyone has gm_construct, a majority has rp_downtownv2, not many people have the other versions of downtown. I've never seen a server capable of allowing rp_downtown to download from the server itself which means people will have to come on gmod to get it. It's a safe assumption that people get on a game to play it, they will join another server instead of going on gmod.org to download a map they dont have. That is why i suggested using gm_construct in the other thread to only start out with so we can build a darkrp community, then switch over to downtown.

Just thought up a few things that a basic dark rp server needs. I would post in the other thread but the spammers with useless suggestions drown out major needs of any RP server. ***For Wiremod and PHX3 there are SVN links to the official SVN Checkouts for both of them. This means that you can keep PHX and Wiremod up to date with a simple right and left click instead of browsing all over for it. I suggest what it says on the Wiremod website and use Tortoise SVN. [Most computers use the 32-bit download.]

It never populates unless me or someone else sits there on it and waits.. and waits.. then eventually people join. The server should self populate and not rely on CG every time. War3 is a good mod because you can sell levels to people which makes keeping the server up not as demanding on the wallet. If the server does well enough then there could be another server with normal CS gameplay.

Deathmatch only made the server die, I guess hence the name.


Dog it might be a custom race you are talking about, the only fully invisible races are wisp (which has 1 hp and can only use USP) and stealth assassin (only while crouching, knife only.) At least on the cataclysm server I go on.
