Once we get a design and stuff, have people preorder shirts, so you have an idea of how many you'd need to get? If it's 30+ go with customink, if not go with somewhere else?
Crovv posted earlier that Spreadshirt would do bulk orders for cheap, so if we could get at least 12 people to preorder, we'd get 15% off. After that, price would depend on colors, type of shirt, and shipping. I'll make a mockup with the CG logo to check costs, but after that all we'd need to worry about would be hitting the 12-person mark. Hell, if we could get 50 preorders, the shirts would be like $7 each, before shipping. Edit: Looks like shirts are about $18 apice if I individually make them with the CG logo, that'd be $15 each after the discount (before shipping and taxes). I did find the old Conjoint shop, looks like prices are pretty steep there. If we did limited runs with preorders, I'm pretty sure we could get prices way down. Edit 2: Holy hell, I forgot how nice spreadshirt is. For a shirt designed on 100% pre-shrunk cotton and an image with a few colors, the shirts are only $16. Note that this is before shipping, but damn, that's cheap. (Assuming you live in the US, shipping is $4.50, bringing the price for a shirt up to $20) Edit 3: What about my shirt?I'd be willing to try out making a shirt design.
Us creative people could make some stuff. I'm willing to make some T-shirt designs.
All I need for a design is a PNG or JPG that's about 1000x1000 (dimensions can vary, but that's what it should be roughly). It has to have a transparent background and you need to use 5 colors at the most. Other than that, go ahead and create some stuff, I'll throw it up on the shop to see what the prices look like.

Customink is nice, but only for bulk orders of 30+ shirts. I think we'd have to do limited runs of stuff to keep prices down, which wouldn't necessarily be bad, we'd just have to hit that 30+ mark to keep prices low.
That being said, if we could be at least 75% sure we'd hit that mark, I don't see the problem with doing sales like that.

The problem we've had with shirts in the past is cost.
Even $20 is a bit steep for something like a CG shirt, unless somehow we get ridiculously good designs that look so amazing people decide they want to pay $20 for it
I do know there's a limit on how low prices can get on SS, but we could even sell some (or all) shirts for no premium (and thus little gain) for about $16 such as one of my favorite YouTubers does.

Would love to help make some shirts, both CG centered, and different designs.
Sweet! Also, I should say that they don't have to be CG-related specifically, it could be used as a portal for CG members to get their designs out in the world and make a little dosh doing so.

Hey everyone, I saw and commented on this in the most recent news post, but I thought I'd make a thread here as well to get more opinions on the subject. Basically, according to the meeting notes, there was some discussion on selling Conjoint-related shirts. Since I've had experience with selling community-related merch before, I thought I'd elaborate on the idea and make some suggestions. Here's what I said in the other thread: I see the idea of T-Shirts were discussed, and I'd be happy to help out setting up a shirt shop for Conjoint. I've done something similar for the last gaming community I was part of, we used Spreadshirt and recruited designs from our art board. Shirts were generally $20, making about $3-$5 each and had designs on them relating to community in-jokes and logos. If we did the design recruiting thing I'd recommend accepting designs in a dedicated board, and figuring out a way to pay the artist ~ 50% of the profits from the shirts a month.
So I'm asking you guys: What do you think of the prospect of a CG merch setup? I'd be happy to get everything working and include all the CLs and whatever in running it.

If we want a nice loud sound for the melon launcher, I think it'd be pretty cool if it went "NNNLEEEEROOOY" from the Leroy Jenkins sound clip when you fired it.
Either that or some sound clip having to do with melons.

Okay, trying to put this thread back on track a bit from the arguments.
Zombie Infector: Probably needs to be nerfed a bit. Maybe something along the lines of percent chance to reveal the location of where it was fired for a set amount of time
If something could be added to it like the tracer the Machina in TF2 leaves, I think that would probably be a good balance.

Yes, like a plug in that when you use your axe and cut one block. It cuts the whole tree.
I would really want to see that since I hate playing on servers with ugly floating trees. But hey my opinion.
No floating trees so far I just set 'em on fire

This is a thread on Tekkit Classic, the modpack my server uses. In it you can find everything you will ever need to know about why you should play on the Tekkit server with me. Contents:- What is Tekkit Classic, and why should I play it?
- How do I get the Tekkit Classic?
- How do I connect to the server?
- What are the rules for the server?
â– Why Tekkit Classic kicks copious amounts of ass: | First and foremost: No Gregtech | | I know right? It's actually easy to get places and make stuff with this modpack. You can be productive, and not have to craft your way around steaming mounts of auxiliary items and rare stones to make, say, a solar panel. Instead of taking roughly two point five billion years to work your way up to an industrial blast furnace, all you need is a couple circuits, glass, and some coal dust. You don't even need diamonds to make a macerator! |
| So you may be saying, "Ralph, I like where you're going with this 'No Gregtech' thing. Is there anything else you can tell me that would make me an even happier person? |
| As much as no Gregtech makes Tekkit Classic look like a diamond in the rough, there's something even better: Equivalent Exchange 2. Not 3, 2. This is the version of EE that lets you flat out dupe items, not the weak-ass EE3 that nerfed everything. Take a look at the Tekkit Classic wiki page on the Energy Condenser: | | The Energy Condenser converts items with EMC values into other items with EMC values. The top-left slot is where the item to be duplicated is placed. Then, any item put in its other 91 Inventory slots will be converted into the the target item, should there be enough EMC. Condensers can also use EMC created from adjacent Antimatter Relays and Energy Collectors. | | This basically means any not-Buildcraft or Industiralcraft item can be converted into a different item. After you get your first energy condenser, you basically have free reign to convert all your cobblestone into stone using no fuel, and at no loss. That's right, sweetcheeks. You can convert cobblestone to stone at a 1:1 ratio at no cost. | | Now suppose the thought of cobble => stone excites you. You can do this with every raw material in the game. Not always at a 1:1 ratio, but free stuff, nonetheless. | | On top of all this juicy goodness, you have standard versions of almost every mod in FTB/Tekkit. Buildcraft, Industrialcraft, Computercraft (my personal favorite), Redpower, and lots more. | â– Ok, I'm hooked, but my peasant mind has no idea how to get this godlike modpack whose description has made me cream my jeans 3 times in the past 5 minutes. | Don't worry darlin', Ralph has you covered, just follow these 3 easy steps: | | - Go to the Technic Launcher download page and get it for your OS.
- Log in, and scroll down through the modpack list on the right until you find Tekkit Classic
| â– I did it! Now I want to play on your alluring server with its sexy map and plugins. | Slow down, cowboy. First you're gonna have to apply for a slot in the whitelist over at this thread. To be whitelisted you gotta have 20 posts on the forums and also have an account that's in good standing on MCbans. Tekkit Classic's downside is that all its awesomeness manifests in the fact that it's easy to greif, with nukes, Nova Catalysts, and Tesla coils. I don't want no butt monkey coming on my server and slapping my shit, so there's a whitelist. Hope you understand <3 | â– Being a butt monkey sounds terrible! What do I do if I don't want't my shit slapped by the banhammer? | Easy. Follow these rules (which can be accessed any time on the server by using /rules):
- Don't be a griefing, trolling, flaming, 'le trole faec' asshat. Easy peasy.
- Don't spam chat / tp requests.
- Don't use the following items, ever, at all. You will be banned immediately if you do.
| â– Are we done? Can I have a TL;DR? | Sure. TL;DR:
- Tekkit Classic kicks ass and chews gum, except it's a modpack so it can't chew gum.
- Get the Technic Launcher to get Tekkit Classic
- Apply for whitelisting here (20 posts or more)
- Don't be a little piece of shit once you get on the server.

Any rules, installed plug ins?
Would like to see something like a anti-creeper and insta chopper. But hey, just some input. A VERY MUCH THANK YOU SIR to you!
Currently: - Essentials (Core, Econ, Chat, Protect)
- LogBlock
- ProperTime (Daytime extender)
- Worldedit, Worldguard
I'll make a more in-depth list and stuff since I've been told I might get a sub-forum. Out of the plugins I listed currently Essentials and ProperTime are set up correctly, I still need to work out sqlite with LogBlock and Worldedit/worldguard permissions and plot creation. Creepers still exist, but they don't damage blocks when they explode, just players/mobs. Not sure what you mean by insta-chopper, but I'll look into if if you clarify All in all, I'm just trying to get MySQL to work for Logblock and after that I'll open up the server to whitelist apps

Yep, it is whitelisted already I'm still putting the finishing touches on stuff, so I'll put out the IP and start whitelisting people once I have a few more things set up and working properly.
ShoutBox!
