Heard about this game here and there along the way, and the review looks pretty good (granted its just one review and IGN). If it does turn out good, do you guys think it could be better then Day Z and possibly bury it? I know Day Z has a ton of press, probably even more so since War Z crashed and burned made Day Z all the more attractive.
Also sounds like State of Decay has a much bigger role playing mechanic (again based off this one review, so don't sue me) which Day Z certainly doesn't.

Isn't Day Z only multiplayer? This appears to be only singleplayer.
Seems kinda cool but eh, I've had my fill of zombie games.

Shit I didn't see that. I didn't read the whole review, kinda in a hurry right now but was interested since it got a good score.

I’m eight or so hours into State of Decay for Xbox Live Arcade.

I watched a little gameplay of it, isn't it only on Xbox Live Arcade? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what the dude on the YouTube said.

Reading is for losers, Cortez. Everyone on the internet is illiterate.
Anywho, I doubt this is gonna bring about the downfall of Day-Z. Being on Xbox and being singleplayer kind of prevents it from interfering with Day-Z's popularity, even if it became popular.

Indeed, Crow just needs to learn not to get so excited and go off too quickly, posting things that he hasn't even read fully :P

Next thing you'll know he'll be linking someone who made a tetris game but it's only for ps2 and it's about nazis pedophilia and necrophilia.
Then he'd say he was excited for it's release trollface

I played it yesterday and it doesn't seem like anything compared to DayZ. The graphics are obviously going to be worse but there are less guns and vehicles. I heard something about multiplayer being a possibility in the future though so that would definitely make it worth while. There are still a lot of bugs and things but they did bring it out early so a lot of updates are necessary.
EDIT: Depending on just how well it does, they are going to add two player co-op to it. They are currently working on a related MMO that has been code named Class 4.

(Want to start by saying State of Decay is currently being worked on for its PC release)
I was at my buddies house for the weekend and we spent most of our time playing State of Decay. I'm not going to lie, it's almost everything I could ask for in a Zombie Game and without all the Assholes you'd find in Day Z.
The mechanics are fun (A little bug here and there but nothing that can't be fixed or breaks the game.)
The entire sound system and stealth mechanics were amazing, especially when searching through a house only to look out the window and see 3 - 4 Hoards about to run into each other and my truck stuck in the middle.
Possibly the best moment though was when Sam decided she was going to use a shotgun to take out a lone Zombie in the forest, summoning about 30 others who quickly climbed the walls and started the assault.
It was pretty awesome to see the 12 Survivors we had all work together to keep them from taking anyone down.
Except Alan, Alan was an asshole and every time he told me I couldn't drive a car, I did it just to spite him.
