I cannot wait to buy this game...when it is at a ridiculously reduced price on steam. -_-

I still have Bioshock 2 to play. The first one wasn't that bad, but it honestly does not even hold a candle to HL.  Infinite actually looks more exciting to me. All that underwater bullshit was really not appealing to me. I am glad they came up for air so to speak.

Bioshock has a lot of history and the original series it is based off of, actually predates HL, but it is just not my cup of tea.

This was a great reminder that I have a game taking up almost 10GB of sweet sweet SSD space, and I should really give it a run through, so I can free that up for the next SP in my list.

Thanks,
-Wooley

Bioshock 2 was an awful game full of plotholes, boring story, and the same exact gameplay as the previous game.

THIS game is going to be an actual sequel that deosn't blow.

I;m not watching the video cause I don't wanna spoil it for myself when the game unlocks on Tuesday xD

I've never played BioShock 1/2. Could I get Infinite and be fine with that? Would I need to know the plot beforehand, or would it still play like any other game?

You would be totally fine. this game takes place in the same WORLD as the prior games, but does not really have the same characters or plot.

You might miss background shit and references and such, but it will not be a major impact if you have not played Bioshock before.

It went on to be top seller twice at the same time on two separate occasions.

While I have it pre-loaded up, Ima' let xcom keep me busy.

apparenly the ending has some time travel shit that makes the events of the first two games non canon or some shit.

Sixty Dollars!? Don't know the exchange rate, but that's double the price than over here! (GBP)

All new games are $60 unless indie or something

From the sounds of the reviews, it sounds like it has lived up to expectations. Honestly if I had the cash, I would have pre ordered it.

1.4 iirc is exchange

So maybe $80?

Currently 60 Dollars = 39.40 British Pounds.

I still have yet to play 2, but 1 was one of the best experiences I have had in a modern video game. There were a few problems like the puzzle, moral choice and end boss but those were far outweighed by the tonics/plasmids, characters, and killing Big Daddies.

You were better off not playing 2 Crow, they basically made up some bullshit reason to go back to Rapture and it was kinda poop.

Bioshock 2 was made by a different production team, not the same company as Bioshock 1.

This game is made by the same people who made Bioshock 1

In 10 fucking hours, it's the 25th, dunno why we need to wait until night.

I've had steam pre-ordered games before that didn't unlock at midnight the day they are released, sometimes not until well into the day of the release so it could be as sucky as tomorrow afternoon.  (Release is 3/26 not 3/25)

2 Things i would like to say:

1) Here's a video review from Adam Sessler for Bioshock: Infinite
Warning, Some spoilers.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jchIi-vR_js

2) Though bioshock infinite for steam costs $60USD, which includes a copy of bioshock 1, tf2 vanity items and a copy of xcom, you can actually get it at the same deal plus an additional game for less On Greenman Gaming (http://www.greenmangaming.com/bundles/).

Quote from: Reddit User
Greenmangaming.com has the best deal for Bioshock Infinite in my opinion if you are to get it for the PC. You get Bioshock 1, Bioshock Infinite, X-Com, a choice of five other games (Bioshock 2, Civilization V, Spec Ops: The Line, Mafia II, or Darkness II), and to top it all off you get $14 cash back(money returned to the account your payment originated from) OR $15 Greenmangaming.com credit.

Here's an article (http://www.vg247.com/2013/02/22/bioshock-infinite-pre-order-incentives-detailed-for-steam-green-man-gaming/).

#1 too late for most of us here, but mainly #2 I need another place to buy stuff like I need a hole in my head :P

Way too many sites trying to sell me games I'm sticking with Steam.

edit: here's a review with very very little in the way of spoilers (in my opinion) which leaves me thinking it will be fun but not quite the best thing ever (the mention of lots of combat and cover usage)

The game has only been out for 22 hours. You already beat it? I hope it's not that short. I generally move really slow in games like this though. Have to loot everything.

It's worth the $60, even if it is a single player game. The story is genius. Beat it once, beating it again in 1999 mode to get 100% achievements.

From what I heard, people's brains crashed midway through the conclusion. So be sure to collect and listen to as many voxophones  as possible. Give yourself a moment to compile all the information in, and let the game fill you in. But most importantly, have fun.

definitely try out the 1999 mode if you want a fun challenge, though it can cause for many hours restarting levels from last checkpoint way back at the beginning cause you missed that one guy.
Title: Re: BioShock Infinite
Post by: Christovski on March 30, 2013, 01:22:42 PM
Definitely gonna try 1999 mode because System Shock 2 was hard but that always kept the game TENSE and EXCITING and also scary sometimes when I heard the SOUND created by this ONE ENEMY that will freak me out and haunt my nightmares forever.

But yeah I'm gonna beat the game normally first.  I prefer loading my last quicksave to re-spawning anyways, I'd rather fight people over again and win legitimately than just be like LOLOL I'M MAGICALLY BACK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIGHT
