It could be good, but we should hold out until we are sure people like it, since even with this early mapping stuff, there are going to be WAY fewer maps than the original has right now.

edit: looking closer there isn't really much showing that this will actually work and play well, there are ZERO videos that I can find of a working build other than a couple "leaked" gameplay videos that look pretty fuzzy and hack.

Yeah I'm saying when its almost time for a game to come out, the team puts out some videos to show it actually works, if this is coming out in 5 days I find it hard to believe they couldn't put together a video of the game actually working.

Supposedly, seeing as how all the old maps can be ported to ZM2, I think in the next few months we should get a ZM2 server set up like our Zm server, and eventually phase out the ZM server if there aren;t enough players, in case ZM2 takes all the population from ZM.

That can be fixed with a simple source mod and is generally a preference thing. So I don't consider that an improvement.

And most of the changes are horrible in my opinion.

IMO we don't need to switch over unless we lose players to ZM2.  The only improvement I see is that players can't teamkill by blocking people anymore.

Like I've said, you can fix that end part in ZM 1 (has been done on servers a lot) very easily.

I don't mind putting up a ZM2 server though, I'm just saying I'd personally have no interest in actually playing on it.

Not a problem, I just advise that if we are, we do it when we can. Just helps with populating if people see we upgraded straight away. Also if we can get plugins and shit working really quickly, the server shuold become the bees knees.  Especially with rtd and whatnot.

Anyone who knows me, knows I have a pure hatred for a few things. Some of them are:

RespawnMod
UpgradesMod
Shop

These things just make the game stupid, rediculous, and bias towards players who play longer times than others. New players would be putoff playing whilst at a total disadvantage to others.
I'd rather die and see the world go up in flames before I see CG have any of that shit.

Two things that truly get me angry when people suggest to use them are Respawn and Upgrades.

As you said, they're beyond bias towards long time players.
I had the unfortunate experience of playing a server all the regulars had basically infinite firing Mac 10s you literally had to have Max Hulks to get one or two players every now and again.

My favorite part of that was Admins and Donators got max upgrade points so they'd basically insta-heal after a single hit and never need to reload.

If you basically have infinite ammo and god mode what's the point of playing the game. It also ruins it for the ZM because they know for 100% that they won't get a chance to win.

So thankfully, we will never have it here.  Every time someone joins our server and says !respawn, !menu, or !upgrades I die a little inside, and thank god these morons usually stay on their own shitty server, with the children and trolls.

I got TK'd twice by the half-clipping through other players, which resulted in a "force" pushing me out of the player and off a cliffside.
