Put an ingame link in chat on TTT server that, when directed to, got me banned from TTT. His name was Boxedin123. Also this is a ban appeal, i need the ban taken away XP

Clicking it outside a server doesn't do much harm, I guess. I just did and a blank page opened.

When I clicked the link, my Firefox first said "Connecting to <address>.." then after that "Transferring data from <address>.." then again connecting and then again transferring data. That happened like 10 times.

What scared the shit out of me was when I was googling and I found this site where some guy said that you can get VAC banned from some links, but then another guy said that this link just does that IP thing, PHEW!

They were also saying that its most probably a virus, so ima run a scan nao and see if it helps =P

Im an admin on a ZPS server and I once made a voteban to ban myself, answer was yes, I got banned and I could no longer see the server on my list. It could have something to do with that. Asked the server owner about it and he said that if I get banned thru console, it'll make the server non-responsive in ur list.

But ye, for now me, Accan and Camper Strike are perm'd lol.

Dang, just gotta google more..

checking if more work is necesary, and for the record don't trust randoms on the server with links also don't be "smart" and post the link on a forum filled with people who skim trough and just randomly press shit...

Reposting said link is just stupid and borderline malicious. You know it does something bad, why the hell would you make it so others could accidently click on it, use you head man.

Other people who clicked it, learn something: don't just click random links. Bad shit will eventually happen you derps. I strongly suggest RUNNING A VIRUS SCAN!

Let's stop dwelling on the mistake of posting/clicking the link and see what we can do to unban the 4 or 5 of us who are now banned. Do IP bans exist in the server? If so we should start by unbanning all of our IPs and see if that works.

So from my understanding it's either a file on the server or on our computers doing this. I quickscanned the comp at my dads and found nothing. Next time I'm there I'll try connecting from my other computer to see if it's the computer or the IP address. If it's the steam account than the odds are it's serverside.

Oh and we can also try using a totally fresh install of steam and gmod. Backingup your old one of course.
