You'll notice I've also created a 16x16 image for the Favicon (That little icon that shows up beside the website's URL in the address bar.)
The actual graphic work is negligible (Save a couple images that can be whipped up in a few seconds). All the changes can be made through the code for the board's theme. I just have no idea how to do that.
Is it that difficult? I'd really like to see CG be consistent with its logos and visual style.

I found this so important that I stiff armed some old grandma out of the way on these public computers
she wasn't doing anything important just being a bitch and trying to get her house back
but yes slyder this is what I literally gave up on after many tearful nights
the exact color layout theme all done nicely
when I get back this is going up first order of business
nicely done Slyder way to take the initiative
-
That's just a mock-up. I didn't do shit.
Photoshop's "Color replace" function did it all for me.
-
Wait. Are you working on a theme :D
That looks nice!
-
I could easily take this and turn it into a reality. Vote?
EDIT: Also can you give me the high res edits of the files (mainly the important ones IE logo)
In other words same resolution as our currents.
-
I'll be glad to toss any files you need your way. What resolution is the main title/banner at the top? Transparent or not? Give me the info you need, and I'll send it all to you.
I'll also send the favicon that I made (It's not in the .ico format, or whatever it is, but I'm assuming you can take care of that part.) Currently it's a blue CG logo with a white background, I can change the color of the G to grey if you want, but I think the white background should stay. Transparency usually tends to make the icon more difficult to recognize with the wrong background. (It's in the picture on my favorites bar if you want to see it.)

I manged to make a that logo in the fav ico from your pics and stuff But I'll take yours probably higher res. *Used the one with black background from the RDM rules and got in to 16 by 16 ico format*
Anyways Transparent is best for me.
350px × 110px for main logo or in that range.
I gusse I could do the rest with hue saturation levels.
But yeah I'd love to see the fav ico and the main banner. I'll make this into another CG Forum Theme and default it so if people want to they can still go back to the red style on their own.

FYI For any one intrested I have made a CG Inferno Beta Avaiable via the
Profile > Look And Layout > Current Theme
It's still in beta So i'll fix the glitches it currently has after Slyder responds.

I think it's about time we change..

I laughed
and we are making this default for anyone who comes on the forums
you can still choose the old theme but by default this will be our new theme
nicely done slyder

The logo at the top is blurry, probably because it's been squished horizontally.
-
Not really. It look very nice! Only you've saved the blue background bar in JPEG am I correct. Rather use PNG.

I dunno It was a quick build of Slyders sketch. Remember it's in Beta.
The blue font isn't quite right yet and yes I'm aware of the pixel issue with the blue bar but if you look close they existed in the old red one as well. I might just make my own bar And use that.
-
Okay, I whipped up some of the image necessary.
Here are the on/off icons (I thought it would make more sense to have our logo instead of a flame icon, especially with a blue theme going on.)
The main logo (Transparent .png)

The 16x16 icon: (Currently in .gif format because I don't know how to convert to .ico)

And lastly, I noticed the blue background image was low quality (And also a little bit off with its hue) so I remade it as well:

Let me know if you need anything else.

Alright made those modifications LOOKS GREAT!
Fav icon would be better transparent tho But give me a second and I think i can fix it.
EDIT: I darkened the main body a bit and got the fav icon transparent.
-
I love this parrot
-
Sweet I think I finally got the right color hex. (0B5196)
Looks like good text color now. Anyways nearly 100% done just need to make minor modifications now.
-
Why do you want a transparent favicon so badly? It's both aesthetically better and more practical with a background.

Well I'm using firefox 5 and transparent favicons usually look much better to me. but meh. Anyways the least of my worries tbh. Also the background in firefox behind icons is grey not white so it looks bleh!
Anyways theme looks great thanks for the images and everything I think it's all done right?
But yeah!
-
Not everyone has Firefox 5. A lot of people don't even have Firefox, and the fact that the default background is grey makes it even worse as the grey "G" in the center would blend with it. Having the white background ensures that the icon is distinct and clearly visible no matter what browser or environment it's being viewed in and it also gives it a square shape, making it uniform with most other favicons (Looking at my current list of favicon links, only one out of seventeen don't adhere to a square shape.
I hate to sound like an asshole, but if you're going to use my designs and graphics, I would appreciate it if you would take my advice on how to utilize them to their fullest.
I look forward to seeing the final product of all this, and on behalf of everyone, we appreciate you making the modifications.
-
lol same old slyder no offence.
Anyways a box is ulgy in my opinion and we both have opinions and thats all they really are in my opinion anyways I'll compromise and do something in between give me a bit i'll edit on update.
-
Not to be argumentative, but it's not just a matter of opinion vs opinion. My opinion is supported by practicality (It makes it more functional. It's easier to see. It's visible no matter the background.) while yours is solely an opinion based on what you like.
I thought transparency would be cool too, and that's why my first version was transparent, until I actually saw it in action and realized how inefficient it was, so I added the white background and realized it was significantly better off for it.

It may be inefficient on your end it's not for me and many others.
Regardless I said I'd meet you half way and I did if you look at the new one.
Anyways every one ready for it to be default?
